Remington has a "special Run" 7600 pump in a 25/06. They are only making 250 of these rifles. These will have a Blue/Gray laminated stock. It is called Kool Blue. They are making it in 25/06 and 7mm/08. I already have permission to buy one, if you know what I mean. I already have a standard 7600 in 25/06, but I wanted this one as a collectors grade. What would you guys do with it? Would you put a nice scope on it and Hunt with it, or put it up as a collectors edition. There will be only 250 per caliber being built.

I would put it up If it was to be a collectable but I never could do that. I cant stand to have a gun I cant shoot.

I don't know much about this rifle, but if the stock is the only thing that is different with no engraving, I don't think the rifle will be worth much more than a regular rifle. As for a collector piece, if it means something to you then by all means go for it.

I would not bet money on it ever being worth more than what you will pay for it or that is will ever become a collectable piece.
It is a marketing stragegy, they all do it to sell a unique style, color etc.
I bought an anniversary edition Rem. 700 in .300 Savage a few yrs back, it was a limited run, special dark wood stock, semi-matte finish, heavy barrel, etc.........................I bought it 4 yrs after its release, NIB for @ half the price it was originally released at. I use mine to hunt with, why because that is why I bought it....................

All my guns are collected. But all get use. If nothing else, you have to put a scope on it. Then take it hunting long enough to take an animal with it. Then put it away.
Thanks for all the opinions on this quest. I have been fond to Remington Pump rifles for a long time. I have also been a big fan of the 25/06 cartridge (own 2 rifles in this cartridge now Ruger M77 MarkII in SS with the all weather stock, and a Remington 7600 in 25/06 pump). I'm pretty sure that this Special Run will not have any special engraving on the rifle. I do like the stock, but I would hate to take it out and scratch it up. I doubt that it would ever be worth any more or less than what I will give for it. It wouldn't be bought necessarily as an investment anyway.

Check out this link, they are the largest gun dealer in the entire state of PA. They also specialize in 760/7600 rifes and have limited/special runs made from Remington because they sell so many of them. (Renington made both guns in .35)

Longhunter, Remington has made that 35 in the past. I have seen them all day long on Gun Broker.com. I currently own 4 of the 7600 pumps. 270, 30/06 carbine and 30/06 standard, and a 25/06. The Kool Blue 25/06 is on order and should be here next week.
