Food Plots Clover in corn

I just planted an acre of corn that I got free. Will it be a waste to overseed with clover now. My objective would be to have clover come in as the corn starts to turn yellow this fall.

I'm not 100% sure but I would guess if you planted clover now it would come up and die out when our summer hits. It won't have the root structure like clover planted last fall or early this spring

I would broadcast clover in the fall. If heat/drought doesn't get it right now, the weeds will.

Thanks. I was wondering if clover seed would lay dormant until conditions were favorables,such as closer to fall.

Another thing against clover in corn right now is that the corn would shade it out pretty bad. I like to put strips of other plants through a corn field for deer if you want something growing after frost kills the corn.
