Food Plots clover advice ?

i have a 2 acrea field that has a lot of natural clover in it. i have left it alone other thancutting because the deer use it as is. this year i noticed theres is still plenty of clover but the weeds are getting thicker. it is at the point where it needs cutt one ore time before the end of summer. question: would it be ok to cut and spray for weeds at this time of year or should i just cut and let it be this year? thanks

Cut high and spray with clethodim and 2,4 DB (quart of each per acre) with surfactant (5oz per acre) or Raptor (5 oz per acre) and Poast (quart per acre) with surfactant (5oz per acre)

Fertilize with 0-20-20, 100# per acre

I agree. I would hit it with gly and then overseed with clover and a cereal grain.

will the gly. Kill the clover that's there now ?

Yes it will if you mix it too strong. Go with what I said, I do this for a living... Check out FB/wildgameplots

I would just cut it this year then reseed in winter. The weeds and grass etc wont have much longer to grow this growing season due to frost. Id wait and spray next year once i overseeded.

A month ago I sprayed a 3 acre field over run with grass and weeds with gly 2oz/gallon with the sole intention of killing everything and starting completely over. Well...gly did what it was designed to do...everything is brown and dead. EXCEPT, the clover is back with a vengeance. It is very thick, lush, and green. It did rain a few days after gly so maybe that was the key. So I've decided to just overseed with rye/oats and bush hog the brown stuff.

My experience may not be the norm and the experts think differently so do whatever you choose.
