I've been playing around with making a closed reed call. Something different I guess and thought I'd show it to ya'll and see if you like the looks of it. The barrel is stabilized (acrylic impregnated) Redwood burl. The bead and a little spot on the mouth piece are Buffalo horn (just for looks). I put a CA (superglue) finish on it then buff and polish to a high gloss. Tell me what ya'll think.

Very nice Brad, the only constructive criticism I would offer is 'I' would prefer a smooth transition where the bottom bead meets the wood. The groove at that point detracts from the smooth flowing lines of the call imo. BEAUTIFUL craftsmanship! PM sent.

Thank you PH! It's funny how tastes differ, I actually was doing that very thing but it wasn't what I was after. This reminded me of what I've seen in some duck calls. LOL I'm always interested in hearing folks though!

Thanks guys! I've been going wild making the closed reeds. Finished this one up today... it's just a plain 'ol piece of buffalo horn with a little buff & polish.
