clinch river camping?

there are some spots under and around the I75 bridge that look like people have camped before but i have never seen anybody camping there. does anybody know anything about this?

not sure. wonder if the state owns certain right of ways through there.

I would camp on one of the islands but never under the interstate bridge. What you have seen is most likely transient camps. You never know what one of them might do if they catch you asleep. With the interstate noise, they would be on top of you before you knew it.

there are only 3 islands i know of. none are suitable for camping. these don't look like transient camps with fishing benches and all. and i would not be unprotected

If you don't mind being below the HWY 61 bridge, you could camp on Clinton Island. It has an area perfect for camping on the upstream end. Also, Aulton Island isn't far from Clinton Island and could be camped on too.

i know nothing about the river below the 61 bridge. i may check it out. thanks
