I have an optima muzzleloader in nickel finis and am curious to know how to remove some black powder stains from the finish. At the same time i dont want to put anything on it to remove the finish any info will be greatly appreciated.

thats a good ? i have the pro & have 1 small stain where the cleaner left a spot,i left it alone as i was afraid of polishing it & making it shiney, its a tool & tools get dings & dangs so i quit worrying about it,mike243

It is very tough to get the stains off of the parkerized finishes. I have a "stainless" scope with the flat/brushed finish mounted on a revolver, it is nearly impossible to keep the powder residue off of it. It has perminant stains.

The problem is the finish is very porus and allowes the contaminants to bleed into it.

Thanks for the info FDXX75 guess the ol smoke pole will just stay the way she is! It dont affect the way it shoots so for that matter its just fine.
