I tried the TC per-mositened patches on Saturday,and it made loading my sabots much easier.
The patch is similar to an oily tack rag, and it grabs much more powder than the other TC water-like cleaner I had been using.

If anyone is having trouble getting sabots to load, try this product.
 
This patch is tacky,and almost feels oily.

Before I would run a wet patch then 2 dry patches. If they came out clean my barrel was clean. I was wrong.
 
I have shot my muzzleloader as many as 40 times and not cleaned it at all. It has this year been shot 22 times and have not cleaned (shot it Saturday and I am good to 200 yards) it yet. My 9 year old daughter could load it, it is that easy and still shoots great.
 
I don't clean between shots either, may shoot 10 to 15 shots before cleaning. Don't see any drop in accuracy either. I have my gun sighted in with a dirty barrel so I didn't have to clean between shots. The thought of having to carry patches with and needing to clean the gun when it's 10 degrees or colder out doesn't appeal to me if I don't have to.
 
I strive to be more accurate than most hunters.
I clean between shots.
I also kill a lot of game.

Man I gotta clean my CVA between shots or it's a bear to load, but it will just about cut the same hole at 100yds.
 
Spit patch, 2 dry patches and reload. With one exception...FPB's Hornady's instructions are not to clean between shots until loading tension changes...which for my gun is after about 20 rounds...

I clean between shots, taking the breech plug out and cleaning to insure it's the same each time...I ain't gonna say I kill alotta game tho........ :grin:

True! If you need a follow up shot, the last thing on your mind will be cleaning the barrel.

Having said that, I shoot with a clean barrel at the range. I guess next time I oughta try shooting without cleaning the barrel. I shoot Barnes, so it will be pretty hard to get the bullet down the barrel.
 
If I shoot with a clean barrel I'm about 3" high and to the right of the bulls eye. The next shot with a fauled barrel is on the bulls eye. I shoot the PB platinums which I know most don't care for, but I have no reason to change yet.
 
Sorry, LCU most guns will not shoot to the same spot with a clean barrel as they do after the barrel is fouled even with just one shot. All of my guns have a fouled barrel when I hunt with them. If you clean my muzzleloader barrel you will not even hit the paper with the first shot at 100 yards. After about the 4th shot it starts grouping really well. I also shoot a 7mmstw in a rifle and it varies as to where it hits with a clean barrel, but with a fouled barrel it shoots to the same spot.
 
At the range for accuracy I will,for hunting accuracy which is a little different,I won't until either 3-5 rounds have been sent or trouble seating pops up.

Went yesterday with a 45 Apex Power Belt Platniums 223gr 777 100grs and shot a decent 3 round group @ 100 with it starting with a cleaned out barrel.I had one charge left and shot it 5" high and 2" left,humm loaded up another cut the same hole. Goona see it that happens again later or if it was one those odd ball things that happens.
 
I clean in between shots and shoot good groups.

Shoot my Omega for 10 shots and try loading the 11th sabot.
I can't do it.

Works for me.
 
I don't swab in-between shots when shooting groups. At the range, I'll swab after every third shot. If a load can't put two shots reasonably close together, I find a new load. Out of my KRB, the first two shots are typically within an inch of each other. The third isn't too far off. Without swabbing, 3 shot groups typically run from 1 1/4" to 1 3/4", depending on how well I do my part. The smallest has been 1 1/8".
