Got out yesterday for a couple hours. Dug a few fired Civil War minie balls. This is from a spot in Cleveland, TN that will be a subdivision in the next couple years. I hate modern development.

Nice haul Daniel. I was wondering the other day if you were still digging. This answered that question 😂.
I'm more into fishing and hunting for rings and such now. Occasionally I get the wild hair to go look for Civil War stuff though. Not many places left. Cleveland has exploded in development.

I had a good friend, now deceased, who was metal detecting back in the glory days before urban sprawl infested Rutherford and surrounding counties. He had an amazing amount of dug CW artifacts. One of his best hauls was when he was hunting with a fellow detector friend. They recovered around 400 pounds of melted lead and minie balls in one big dig. They were hunting in an area where old Joe Wheeler had captured a big Yankee wagon train, killing the mules and burning the wagons.
