Took this pic a couple days ago in Franklin. He was going to join his other 2 jake buddies.

It never gets old watching the birds whether it's turkey season or not. Trying to steer my mind toward deer while I go fishing. I hate how quick turkey season goes by.

Yea I have called in gobblers in the fall just like it was spring time. They are one of the most unpredictable animals.

I did that 2 or 3 years ago just a couple days after the fall shotgun season closed. I was bowhunting and could still kill a turkey with a bow of course. I didn't have a turkey call but stalked closer and used my mouth to yelp and had one about 20 yards through the thicket blowing up into strut and gobbling but I could never find a clear shot to let an arrow through.

Was that pic taken right off Carothers? If so there was a big tom out there about the last week of season, strutting for 2-3 hens and I think two jakes were in the bunch.

Yea it was there and I figured there had to be more birds somewhere. I walked around that place a couple years ago before they broke ground, used to be a pond loaded with mallards in the middle of it all, I imagine it once was someone's honey hole for deer and duck hunting.
