I truly believe that Cignetti is the only current coach that has a shot at dominating the game for any period of time.
Too early to say he's the best. I could say he's been the best for two years, but that's not much to go on.He is doing it with mostly 3 star players that no one else wanted. In the final 4 he only had 7 bluechip players against the other three teams who had anywhere from 30 -60 blue chip players each he is far superior in knowing talent that other coaches just don't see.In my humble opinion he is the best coach in college football!
He is a good coach and comes from the Saban Coaching tree. I think he has put together a great team this year. Alot of the offense are Seniors this year and expected to move onto the NFL. I doubt he will put together as strong of a run next year. Expect to see Mike Shanahan move to his own team in 2027. And then expect to see Indiana fade from glory. You have to respect what he's done regardless of whether you like him or not. He's been a winner everywhere he's been now.
He spoke very fondly in that video about a couple seasons of his time spent at Alabama. Pretty fond memories for myself as well; I was in Atlanta for both the 08 and 09 SEC Championship games as well as in Pasadena for the National Championship against Texas. Nobody realized yet what the next 15 years of college football would look like for Alabama but I would've been happy if that was the pinnacle of the run walking out of the Rose Bowl that night.
Roll Tide!!
