Anybody hunting there this weekend? My buddy got drawn and hunted all day yesterday. Saw several but did not shoot anything. He's back at it today. Any other reports?

I wasn't there but two friends were. One saw two doe at 57 yards, one saw 5 doe, shot at one but hit a branch. From what they saids there was a 4% kill ratio, 400 or so hunter and only 22 deer killed first day. They packed up after the afternoon hunt and came home didn't hunt the second day. Hope your buddy had better luck!

Sounds like they are just selling permits, and stacking the hunters. We hunted MZL there in 1978, and out of 20 in our party, 11 got a deer. The hunters were stacked then. Glad I didn't put in for a quota hunt.

CS used to be absolutely LOADED with deer and most were very small. Ive saw a few does aged at the check station back in the 90's that field dressed less than 40 lbs and were aged at 3.5+ yrs of age!! Ol Leon used to get pissed if someone questioned his aging estimates too! 2007 EHD and all other factors that year really put a hurt on them, I was told by a Wildlife Officer. Not sure how it has rebounded?

great hunting to be had and some good bucks, the 2007 ehd really helped chuckswan by getting rid of the over population. there is tons of good hunting to be had where you will never see a soul if you do your homework!!! knightriders tip of the day for chuckswan is if you cant see lake water your not in the right places!!!

Had a friend that passed on a spike and 4pt. I didn't realize Chuck Swan now counted towards your bag limit. At least that's what he told me.
