Its definitely not what it once was! Its never been a place to kill a big buck, but used to be a GREAT place to see and kill just any lil deer!
 
ive seen lots more bigger deer on the swan than i ever have!!!! great place to hunt, you guys need more scouting time there are some great deer in there now!!! not as many as used to be but lots better quality now!

We always see deer at CS and I always enjoy the camping. We will be there the first rifle hunt.
 
Killed deer last three years there love the place seen some decent bucks during the muzzy hunt I'll be there one the rifle hunt as well you just have to hunt the thickest stuff you can seen 27 between two of us on the bow hunt last year

I was just BS'ing. I took the wife and son up there on a ride this summer. We stopped counting at 200+ deer. I don 't know where they going during the season, but there are deer every freekin' where in the summer. I would love to get drawn up there. Cade's Cove of Sharp's Chapel!

Sounds good. I live in plainview and work in New Tazewell. Pass Sharps Chapel twice a day.
 
I was up there for the hunt this weekend. Friday evening I saw 20 deer. I also saw the biggest buck I've ever seen while hunting up there. I don't think I really agree with the whole gate times, but what can you do? From where we were we had to start leaving the trees at sunset to make the 830 gate close. Walking out I saw that buck not 100 yards from my stand and heading in that direction. It made me sick to my stomach. Needless to say I didn't go back today. I was too mad at the situation plus we over slept. It's quite a whole driving back both days. We should have just camped up there.
 
Sounds like a good hunt. We was up there two years ago me and friend shot two does 45 minutes before dark. We had them gutted and dragging when we called a friend to stop and tell GW we was on our way we had two deer and long drag .5 minutes later our friend calls back an says GW said if we was not back he would lock gate and write us ticket. We had to leave deer laying thanks to GW. Now that's bunch sh--. Luckily they was still there next morning and it was cold.
