Christmas Trees

So,Ive been putting trees pretty heavy unto what i consider good spots for Bass Fishing, couple questions.
In your experience, how long before the bass gravitate towards them?
And, how long do they last? being effective.?

I've put out a few in my little pond and they are fish hotspots. I burned them green to get the needles off so they were just limbs. I would think any kind of cover would be beneficial… They've been in there for twenty years.

i don't know about bass, but i've put structure in of a morning and caught bluegill and crappie later that day.

I built a bunch of "fish trees from scrap pvc. Caught bass on them on day 2. Once they cover in algae and the fry start feeding on the micro plankton, the bass can't resist it. Pretty cool to go out at night with a flashlight and see hundreds of fry schooling all around them. (The tops of mine are about a foot below the surface.)

The problem with Christmas trees or cedars if not burnt first they will silt up and aren't much good afterwards

i've had better luck with hardwood branches or even tobacco sticks as stake beds. but ANYTHING sticking up from lake bed will work to a degree.
