Will chokes the same gauge (say full) but different brands be different measurements. I hope I said that right.

Yes, especially when dealing with some of the overbored guns.

One should check with the choke manuacturer before buying. If it doens't fit, make sure they have a good return policy.

There is a general guideline for choke constrictions, but not all manufacturers follow this exactly.

Beretta, for example, has different dimensions between their systems of chokes.
