Ive got 75 new chineese chestnuts,I understand the proper spacing of trees, wider and more open the better.Im wanting to basically build a singlehunting plot out of these and was wondering how close I can put these and still have good growth??Is 15 feet apart too close??

that's pretty close, will be growing into each other quick.I have planted several, one would already be growing into another if I did it on 15 foot spacing.

I would think when they start growing together, overlapping branches,it would lower production by shading each other.
