Recipe for all of you food plotters, pull up several chicory plants root and all, after a rain is usually best unless you have very loose soil. Disgard the leaves or make a salad with them, although I must warn you, I dont like them and find them bitter. After you have harvested the roots, thouroughly wash and chop them up using a blender or some other device. After chopping, bake the bits @ 250 on a cookie sheet in the oven with the oven door slightly cracked. It took about 2 hours for mine to turn a very dark brown. After this simply use as you would coffee grounds, or mix with coffee, whichever you prefer. (also, caffeine free)
