Chicken Damage

My corn started out doing fine (planted a month ago) but most of it has about died. At first I though the frost might have got it but I planted another patch after the frost and it is looking the same. I'm thinking the chickens might have got it. Last year they stayed in the pen but they've been out all spring this year. Has anybody had the same problem? Cucumbers, cantelope and melons looking the same.

how tall did it get before the chickens got it. usually if its 2-4 inches tall the crows or squirrels will get it

It was about that tall. Some of the leaves are wilted.

If you suspect chickens, I'm guessing you have shredded leaves and such. What I'm doing is laying a panel of fencing across my rows until they get established well enough to stand on their own. Also prevents chickens from dusting on the bare ground.
