Cherokee Purple in cattle tubs

I know I am a couple months ahead of you guys in Tn. I am growing Cherokee Purple and Celebrity. I put 1 CP per tub and usually 2 Celebrity, sometimes just 1. The red ornaments are to fool the birds. Put them out early, while the tomatoes are green. I think it helps some, mainly I keep them picked as soon as they start to turn before the birds spot them. I've sprayed them and my cucumbers twice with Daconil, first year I have used it. Any of you spray fungicides on your tomatoes? I am starting to get a few ripe tomatoes, had my first 2 BLT's today.

Look great! Cherokee purple is one of my favorite! I also planted them, celebrities and German pinks.

Maybe she needs to do a blind taste test. Some people say they have a smoky flavor.

yeah she is weird. she had a sandwich one time with green cherokees and said it was good. go figure.

CP's are my favorite. I've got 17 in my raised bed I grew from seeds out of a CP from last year. Always look forward to the first BLT of the year. I like the ornament idea

That can help also, I've used it with blueberries.

For what it's worth mancozeb seems much better than daconil to me. Rotate it with captan.
