Since Cherokee is just across the mountains from Gatlinburg, thought this was interesting

But the growing coyote population poses a unique threat in Cherokee � an expensive herd of trophy white-tailed deer. The special breed of deer was imported from Ohio to help establish a prized hunting population on tribal game lands. But coyotes are suspected of preying on the fawns.

I hope their deer do good but, coyotes are hard to do much with. You can hunt'em hard for a while and not make much of a dent.
 
They will be paying for coyotes from all over the south. bounties do not work. it will not take long for some to figure out they can pay $10.00 for a coyotes then collect the $25.00 bounty along with the money from the pelt. Start looking for craigslist ads wanting to purchase your coyote kills.

Research has also shown that the only way to "control" coyotes is through intense trapping. When I say intense, I mean a ton of man hours and a ton of traps to make a dent.

Furthermore, when you start reducing coyote populations you will see an increase in litter size during the next breeding cycle.
 
Bring back the cyanide guns. Does anyone on here even know what a cyanide gun is? When i worked some of the big South Texas ranches back in the 60's, they would have signs and flags warning about them. Talk about dangerous.

Why not just drop the little poison wienies out of airplanes again? After all, if it eats meat it has to be bad, Right? Lets just go back to the "All predators must die" mentality, who needs them anyway?

And yes, I know what an M44 "Cyanide gun" is, and how it works. i wonder if the ranch dogs could read those signs?
