Anyone else chase the rut? What I mean by that is hunt totally different areas based on what the rut is doing there.

I hunt Marshall and Williamson counties and will spend time in the county where the rut is really going.

I try but can't ever hit it right. Hunt Montgomery Robertson humphries and Williamson. Useally the rut goes in that order but hard to hunt it all in a year more than a day or two.

Absolutely. Since I now have a wife and 3 kids, it just isn't worth it to me to get nagged for hunting during the less productive times.

I hunt the peak of the rut in Tn in Nov, then take a break until right before Christmas and hunt the MS Delta. Another break and hunt peak of rut in East MS during new years. And then I hunt my local rut at the end of Jan.

I've hunted Illinois starting late October, went to Ohio first week of November then hunt Tennessee mid November, then go to Lincoln county in December finally ending up hunting north Florida in January.

This is why Im intrigued with Southern hunting. I would love to hunt KY, NE or somewhere else with a typical mid Nov rut then head South and hunt a Jan rut. Thinking about doing this in AL this year on some WMAs.
