For those who own one be sure to check the roll pin that retains the firing pin (striker retainer pin). Mine was broken as I found out while doing an "advanced cleaing".

The good report is that Springfield is sending me a new one, no questions asked. I was on the phone with them for less than 2 minutes. Was told that they can be weakend by excesive dry firing. Guilty as this is my wifes gun and she does a lot of dryfiring exercises so she won't try to "beat the recoil" so to speak. So only live round firing from now on.
