For those who own one be sure to check the roll pin that retains the firing pin (striker retainer pin). Mine was broken as I found out while doing an "advanced cleaing".

The good report is that Springfield is sending me a new one, no questions asked. I was on the phone with them for less than 2 minutes. Was told that they can be weakend by excesive dry firing. Guilty as this is my wifes gun and she does a lot of dryfiring exercises so she won't try to "beat the recoil" so to speak. So only live round firing from now on.

Not quite so sure about SA customer support. I called today because the white dot on front blade of my xd-subcompact came out the other day while shooting. I never got the immortal words..."I'm sorry, how can we make this right". Was told just to use White model paint and redo it.......in a very short kind of way.
