I got home from work early yesterday and since my boat just got fixed, I figured that I would take it out down here for a test run. I wasn't planning on fishing but the weather was just awesome, so I gave the engine a little break, put on a Berkley Gulp shrimp and made a few casts. Suprisingly, I caught more fish in a short period than I usually do all day! LOL! Most were dinks but I did manage to catch a 25" redfish with 22 spots on it and two keeper trout. Maybe I should judt go out with NO intentions of catchin' fish!

awesome man where bouts you fishin...i grew up fishin the waters of homosassa and ozello...cant wait til christmas and i can get down there and do some fishin

Biglefty, I fish the intercoastal waterway here in Jacksonville. I am still trying to figure the saltwater fishing out. The tides seem to be the key to catching or not catching fish. I am learning alot and enjoying the great fishing down here. We have fished out of Homosassa before. There is great fishing over there!

your right about the tides... on an incoming tide there is no telling what you will catch... on out going tide you might as well try to catch some bait fish or something else lol... for the red fish, go out in the low tide and find the points where the oyster beds meet and where the holes and channels are..i always have luck off a point where the water comes by on incoming tide...when the tide is coming in thats where you need to be...what are you using for bait?? the best live bait i have used is cut pin fish... i fillet them on one side and put it on the hook and use the rest for another... the only hooks i use are the circles also...like i said i grew up fishin that and feel like i know quite a bit if you have any questions pm me or something and ill see if i can help

Awesome!

I got a little taste of saltwater fishing last year and LOVED it. I plan to do some this year during our Florida vacation.
