Well I went to old hickory dam for the second time and fished from the bank right next to the power plant. I got there a little after 6am and the generators shut off at 8am and the fish started biting good through midmorning.

Most were drum with the biggest being 7-5. I don't complain about drum, they are fun to catch. Caught 3 or 4 cats, two of which were eating size and their fillets now reside in the fridge awaiting their final fate.

Also had a couple largemouth, first one was 4 pounds 13 oz. I caught em all on either cut up big gizzard shad, or 4 or 5 small threadfin strung onto the hook. Since the generators were off, I had one line with just a plain hook and bait and another line with a small #6 hook and one split shot. I was tired of losing all my hooks on the bottom so I took off the big weights.

All in all it was an enjoyable morning and I got what I wanted out of it - some cats for the table. Also one of the drum I caught in the cast net and the last of the day took the bait right as the generators turned back on.

No pics now, still on my camera and not on the comp yet.

I hope you post a pic of the 4-13 largemouth. We aren't used to seeing you catch purty fish! :D
I catch a handful at least once a week down in the creek... largemouth, smallmouth, spotted, rock bass, longear sunfish, bluegills, green sunfish, etc... Most of the time the bass are smaller, usually under 2 pounds but I have caught some good ones in the deep holes. I can post the pic of the 4-13 once I get the pics on my comp.
