Lookin to make my 1st trip to catoosa this year on juvenile hunt. I have never hunted here anyone have any pointers for me or a starting place to scout as I know nothing about it thanks.

Prepare for seed ticks. Alot of them. Also watch for rattlers and copperheads. As far as scouting goes, Google maps and a terrain map are a good start. Mark out what looks good and put some miles in

Bought map from Region 3 office...shows roads and trails....it's a bigger and bettet version of what they hand out at check in stations....permetherin will help with seed ticks....

I don't have a preference. Genesis has more planted fields. Both sides produce good deer from what I've seen

I have seen some big bucks down main road just past that medium size oak tree that hangs over the road. Go in right there and go about hundred yards turn left then another hundred take another left then another hundred, hunt right there. Great spot hope this helps.

So make a circle? Lol

Ok, on a more serious note I have hunted her several times. But have yet to see anything like what I hear about and see in the tndeer trophy room. Apparently there are certain places are regularly producing decent bucks. I have yet to find any of theses spots. I would like to just have a good starting place, this property is huge.

I got on a nice 8 on the ML draw last year on the Genesis side but got busted by a straggling doe that had came in behind me when I was turning to get in position...plan on hunting the same area on the Rifle hunt...

I usually use the open bow hunt to scout a bit...just bring plenty of bug spray....the seed ticks are like the plague there

Seen a few good ones.......I've spent alot of time walking and looking....there seems to be some areas that are better than others....

What are you calling the main road, Genesis, Peavine, or Bicolor?
