was thinking about hunting there this year does anyone have a comment on this wma? cumberland county side verses morgan county side?what about the quality of bucks I don't see a lot of deer in the trophy room.any info would be great.

Lived in Crossville all my life. Since changing the bucks to 4 on one side or 15 inches wide, the buck sightings are much better. With that being said, it's public hunting. They dropped the quota a few years back and helped the somewhat over crowding. Rule of thumb...easier the spot is to get to...the more crowded. But, by the time the first quota hunt rolls around, there will be a ton of sign in easy to access areas. IMO the first quota hunt has always been the best. You can tell by harvest numbers. A lot of your quota hunters (in my experience) use these quota hunts to get away...do some camping..have a good time. So, try to do some scouting, find some pinch points or funnels. Thicket edges, or thick creek bottoms. I've killed more deer on catoosa trying to evade other hunters than chasing does. Hope this helps. By the way...scout more than one spot.

would there be less hunters during the archery quota or is it about the same as gun quotas?

Archery is a non-quota hunt. Less pressure but just because bows are quite.
