I took my daughter on juvenile last year. It was first time back since about 2003.

The area is huge with all types of terrain and habitat. Fall foliage will be beautiful on that hunt, but visibility will be less than 60 yards in most places.

There are a lot of camping folks. We always had a fun time and saw deer.

I drew same hunt, last yr was my first yr there. I'll have to miss Thursday but be there Friday and Saturday hopefully.

I've hunted up there around 35 years , Genesis side . Clear cuts with a few white oaks in or on edge & the thick stuff . Find a good creek crossing in the hollers with rhododendron. May a few openings & get in there no later then 4:30-4:45 . Trucks start rolling out of camp around 5 . Let them push the deer through.

a compass and a saved OnX map will help you more than anything. I like to consider myself a decent woodsman and have only felt lost in the woods 2 times in my life and they were both on Catoosa. With all the fingers and ridgelines everything runs together sometimes.
