Catoosa or Chuck Swan

For the past 5 years I have always applied for Oak Ridge quota hunts.
With the doe only hunts at Oak Ridge this year I am now trying to decide between Catoosa or Chuck Swan hunts.
Prefer archery but will also consider muzzle loader.
Have done a little hunting during the open archery hunts at Catoosa. No success.
Have never been to Chuck Swan.
Live in Knoxville.
Any recommendations?

I've hunted Catoosa on the buck only hunts and every year I've been covered up in does wishing I had been there for the archery hunts so I could harvest one. You'll run into some people in Catoosa if you hunt field edges but there are pretty good deer numbers there.

I've never hunted Chuck Swan but I've heard mixed reviews from the guys I know that have hunted it.

More deer per acre in Chuck Swan imo ,I quit putting in for it when they dropped the bonus designation

As much as it saddens me to say Chuck swan is in the process of being made one big thicket, five different logging company's in there right now laying it down, projected to have most harvestable timber cleared by 2025 :bash:

Catoosa gets my vote. Chuck Swan is a 2 day hunt, Catoosa is a 3 day hunt. You can also hunt the open hunts at Catoosa to learn the area better. I also don't like the fact that at Chuck Swam you have to wait in line behind the gate. Then, when they do open it, its a drag race to your spot. You also have to be off the WMA by a certain time at night. It's just not an enjoyable hunt for me.
