Catoosa Next Week!

Went down Sunday and scouted some spots on both sides and seen an unbelievable amount of sign! Rut activity should be hitting pretty hard. Im hoping for beautiful cold weather. Any one else that got drawn fired up?!

With the cold temps and rutting activity ive been hearing about this should be one heck of a hunt! Had some buddies scouting yesterday that seen a buck chasing a doe. Im excited to say the least!

I hung my stand this evening on the same tree I've hunted out of for the past 15 or so years There's more buck sign in there this year than normal too. :grin:

Friend of mine killed a decent 8pt this morning right at day break on the Genesis side of the house.

That is good numbers, the last time I went up there was about 5yrs ago on the last rifle hunt of the year. Snowed the first day. Only had a couple hogs and maybe 10-20 deer checked in all week.

Yeah I know, seems like I always get the ML hunt every year after they have been all shot up. Kind of wish the ML hunt would come before the rifle hunt does like the state wide hunts are. Never have figured that one out yet.

I think the agency that manages Catoosa should change it up next year. Following the format that's set now by having the rifle hunt, mz hunt, then the archery, followed by the young sportsman's hunt.
