This is my first post but thought it would be good to start with this. First off, hunts do not always happen like this but this one did. The Catoosa hunt was close and I did not have time to scout so I did the next best thing...scouted from satellite images on google. I knew the general area but had never hunted this particular spot. So...what did I look for? 1. A spot that would be overlooked by most hunters. 2. A ridge top 3. Close (all season) water source. I found a spot I liked and drove to it the next morning, parked on the side of the road and started hunting. Long story short, three hours later I was blessed with this decent 8pt. Love it when a "plan" comes together.
