Catoosa and AEDC both open this weekend with a non quota archery hunt. Anyone going to one or both of these WMA's this weekend or next?

I was planning on hunting Catoosa this weekend, but my hunting partner backed out on me. So since AEDC is local for me, I plan on hunting there Friday morning. Going to try to make it to Catoosa though sometime next week when he can go. Everyone hunting either place this weekend please keep us updated on your hunting trip.

Carlos,
Where will you be camping at Catoosa just in case I decide to pop up there alone? I could use some company.

Are any of you guys that are camping at Catoosa during the open bow hunt this weekend and next week staying at the Genesis Campground?

Me and a couple of buddies plan on hitting catoosa 18-21 since oakridge decided to cancel our hunt probally be camping on the bi color side be driving a black dodge white camper top pulling a camo utv stop by and shoot the bull

tnhunter83, if I decide to go to Catoosa early I will shoot you a PM before Thursday and get your cell number and give you a hollar. TNRIPNROR, I will most likely be up there the latter part of the hunt like you so I will be sure to keep an eye out for your black dodge. waynesworld, good luck on getting your first archery kill at AEDC, I plan on killing one there myself Friday morning.

Will do Carlos, I usually camp at Peavine during the rifle hunts so I know exactly where your located. Probably will be the middle of next week before I come up, but will check in with ya to see how ya'll have done.

Too bad you all are on the other side. I have a house just utside Bicolor and will be over there for the hunts. If you get over to Bicolor side, come on out to Dry Hill road and give me a shout.

It's only Wednesday and the Peavine campground is already feeling up? My earlier plans to go up this Thursday evening to get a good spot would have been a bust anyways. Hopefully when I come up next Wednesday, alot of the hunters will have already packed up and left? Good luck Carlos, I will see you in about a week. And save a few deer for me,LOL.

Scouted a little today at AEDC and found an area with a few good rubs. Other deer sign not the best I ever hunted, but I marked me a tree to hunt anyways. I will let ya'll know tomorrow when I get back how it turned out. Hopefully with meat in the freezer!

Always see deer at Catoosa when driving the roads. Never see them from the stand is the problem for me. Heading out here in a few minutes, will be there until Monday lunchtime.

Got rained out this morning at AEDC, hurricane just happened to hit when I was driving to the woods! I will be at Catoosa on October 17-20th. I will be staying at either the Peavine or Genesis Campground, not sure yet which one.

I am new TN. Is Catoosa a draw hunt or is it open to everyone? I am still in the process of looking for good hunting land. Any Tips would be great.

It is open for the next 9 days. Archery only, antler restrictions apply, the 9 days are broken into 3 3-day hunts.

The current hunt is non-quota or an open hunt. There are draw gun hunts in November and one and December. There is another open gun hunt around mid December.

We are camping over off of Peavine Firetower Rd. Its going to be the last campsite on the left, just before the turn towards Fox Creek and the Genesis Station. Stop by if you get the chance around noon or in the evening sometime.
Carlos, stay out of my camping spot. lol
