Anybody catfish Glenn Springs? What is the best way to fight the grass while bottom fishing? My thought was fish a live bait on a 3 way rig with a short leader to the hook but about 4 or 5 feet above the weight. Keep the bait just above the grass. Anybody have any suggestions?

That would have been the method I would have suggested, although I have never actually tried it, :)

Be sure to use lighter line for your weight so that you can break it loose, if needed, and save the rest of your setup.

I've never bottom fished on that lake. Typically just set noodle-jugs adrift with yo-yos on them to adjust for deeper water, but I don't fish the lake that much.

Seems like a good plan to me - let us know if it works! Good luck.

The guys I know who catch em out there are usually jug fishing, or using a slip bobber set up with a bobber stop, and adjusting the depth to keep it just above the grass of right at the tip of it near the bottom.

I saw a guy fishing off the East boat ramp catch a 47 lb. blue with a slip float and a live bluegill. Might have to give them that a try too.

An older guy that I hunt with likes to catfish out there. He uses the slip bobber and sets it to where it stops just above the bottom. I've got a pic of him with a 36 lb cat from out there. They mostly use a dipbait concoction of some sort.
