catfish?

what is wrong with catfish these days?
they die before i get them home.
they used to live all night in the boat.

same thing with minners.

Water is too hot. Oxygen level in the water drops quicker.

back when i was little 15yr ago daddy would just throw them in the back of the boat (no livewell) when we would get them off the trot line.wake up in morning and check the lines again and go home and the fish still be alive all night out of water so i know thats not because of hot water

we put them in a cooler, with a bag or 2 of ice and they are fine till we get home to clean them
