Here's the deal. On Friday's I watch my 3 year old and 1 year old while my wife works. When the weather's good, I take them fishing.

I need some kind of rig to catch catfish, where I can cast, forget it, and come back when the fish has hooked himself. I'm thinking circle hooks are the ticket.

Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

Circle hooks will work but the catfish will likely get hung up and its over.If there is no cover,go for it.Main line with an inline weight tied to a swivel.Leader about 18" tied to other side of swivel and your choice of hook size.

That will work.. I do that sometimes on our dock.. I'll cast out the rods and let them soak over night.. depending on the bait..I some times use treble hooks also..
