Can anyone recommend a good cast net company? I'm not talking about the cheaper Betts nets you can get at Bass Pro. I need something durable, fast-sinking for saltwater, and easy to throw from a quality high-end manufacturer. Thanks in advance.

I'd start with Memphis Net & Twine. They seem to be the go-to company for commercial fishermen and our fisheries folks for various types of nets. I bet they have what you are looking for.

There also may be a better quality than the entry nets at Bass Pro's Offshore Anglers site.

Yeah, in retrospect, I realize Betts offers better nets than what they sell inland at BP. But I'm still interested in other companies. I'll check out the Memphis company. Thanks.

Hey Steve,
The price is definitely right on the nets, about 1/3 what some of the other companies are charging for what I would want. If you think they're quality, I may go for it. Thanks.

Another option would be to call J&M Tackle in Orange Beach, AL (look up their number on the internet).

The owner, John, and his crew are known in that area as being a top-notch group of helpful and knowledgeable folks.

Call them up and ask for a recommendation on what you are looking for. If you will be in the area, they will certainly sell it to you, but they can also recommend a specific brand/type to look for. They don't carry or endorse Walmart-type equipment.

I just called and talked to a really nice guy who gave me some great advice on some things I hadn't thought of. he used to guide Pickwick, so he knew our area. He said he appreciates spreading the word about their company on our discussion board. Good stuff - thanks.
