Ok I'm in business I found a broken wire under 1 of the boards, I soldered it back on and boom I'm good to go thanks to everyone! Now onward to new things. Im new to targeting coyotes. I have shot 3, 2 while turkey hunting and I called one in last Sat with a wood pecker call. It was a cool experience I went to some land that I have to hunt to myself 274 ac farm bunch of coyotes eatin my turkeys. Got there before daylight hopin to hear a gobble - Im ready! No gobbles so I take my turkey gun with some 8 shot gonna squirrel hunt. Snow covered ground and every step was a crunch the snow had began to melt the day before then re froze. I walk along the edge of a 30 ac field and think........ I have that wood pecker call my wife bought me marked down at WalMart maybe I could try and call a coyote or cat, I saw a cat during deer season. So I sat down along the edge of the field and give my best try at a squelling rabbit in distress with this wood pecker call and I hear a howl and then nothin I think no way so I set there about 5 minutes in silence and I hear crunch crunch I knew exactly where he was coming from heard him come down over the ditch bank and up over and boom here he comes running. He stops at 30 yards and has an eyeball on me but its to late, he ran into the woods about 20 yards and piles up. Was nice to have snow to track what little I had to. That said I have a 14 year old daughter that has fallen in love with a 30 30 I got her and she wants to shoot a coyote. I know the range is a little short but for years she was'nt interested and now she loves shooting this gun so I'm gonna let her have fun, heck shes a better shot with it than I am its a fit for her, so now I guess her love affair begins! Showed her the West TN Coyotes Hunters Assoc. video on you tube. I live in Medina and work over in Crockett Co so we have some decent hunting.
