Need advice on a case trimmer, I think I want a universal but not really sure. Any advice that won't break the bank?

Looking at the Lyman universal and the SmartReloader Sr777.

Anybody have any experience with the above, or any other advice?

Thanks,

Don

I have the Forster Case trimmer and have never had any problems with it. I suppose all manual trimmers are basically the same.

Wilson trimmer is about a precise as one can get. If you want a Cadillac and time is money, look at a Giraud trimmer...There is nothing finer.

The lyman but for completely positively sure, get the one that you can attach a drill to. Build a little platform, attach a drill on a sliding thingy, attach the trimmer, clamp it down when you need to use it.

Hand cranking my Lyman for 557 280 cases like to killed me.

There are some very nice trimmers out there and the only limit is how many you [;am on trimming and your wallet.

The smart reloader stuff: I own a tumbler, a bunch of ammo boxes, and a press. The press is just plain junk, got more wobble than a working girl on Beale. Be careful of any of their products that require tolerances, engineering, manufacturing to be in sync.

Have the Lyman both Hand and Electric, with Carbide Cutter Head they work for me.
