I've attached a pic of a rifle I just picked up. I have never had this many marks and letters before. I know the Remington codes, but how would one interpret all of this?

Is it a fairly new Pump rifle? From what I can interpret, it looks like it was made in March of 1989.

The center diagonal stamp looks to be the inspector mark.

Heck I could be wrong.

I just picked up this 7600. My guess is the KG means it was made in May of 86; and possibly that the AJ means it was repaired or serviced by Remington in March of 1989. But I am just guessing, that's why I'm reaching out.

Easiest thing to do is call Remington at their 800 number and give them the serial number. You will then know which code is correct and they may tell you the reason for the two codes.

Yep, sure looks like a late 80's model. I still love those pump guns. Mine is crazy accurate for how old it is and for how heavy the trigger pull is.
