. . . If you don't win the first one. Awesome opening morning in West, TN. Worked him from the roost and touched the trigger at 7:20. He came gobbling and drumming through the river bottom hardwoods. Had to move on him a couple times. Last time I sat down, I had to pick a spot in a hurry. Thought I had the perfect spot, he closed pretty quick but hung up at 50. He strutted and drummed there for a long time. He would come in and out of sight, and I was praying for 5 more yards for a clear shot. Then the drumming quit. I was afraid he was leaving. After a few minutes of silence, I heard a commotion and he landed right in front of me at 30 yards. As it turns out, my last set up was 40 yards from this creek. He was just on the other side strutting and drumming. I couldn't see it from my vantage point until I walked towards him a couple yards. Just glad he was finally willing to hop across. Standard 2yr old in size. I love me a dam 2 yr old.
