Who's to say it never happens but I've never seen any evidence suggesting that they do. I've seen and left quite a few laying where they dropped that were never touched by anything other than buzzards. Had they have been deer or gut piles they would have been gone overnight.

Just about every one ive killed nothing will touch them but ive seen a coyote in the dead of winter eating on one i shot and left laying. If they are hungry enough they will do it.

Coyotes do eat other coyotes. I've even had them kill one and feed on it over night in a steel trap.

Usually leave them lay here, seen buzzards eat them. Had other yotes come through that also got shot, dunno if they might have tried to eat the dead ones or not, never gave them a chance.

I was hunting in Texas once and shot a coyote at 423 yards with my 7 mag. Within 10 seconds, there were 4 fighting over him and I emptied my rifle and it didn't bother them, and yes, I didn't hit another.
