Can someone ID this oak tree

This is a large tree loaded with small, young acorns.
Do deer like this type of acorns.

In the 7 years that I lived here in Tennessee, I don't believe I've ever seen one. I just got permission to hunt some property and its loaded with huge White Oaks and Red Oaks. I set my ladderstand next to this Oak. I was hoping it was a good food source like the White Oaks.
Sure would like to know what kind it is and if deer like it.

Looks Like a sawtooth,be a bow season heaven there

Looks like a chinquapin. If it is, they have a small dark acorn that deer love.

Can't really tell. It has characteristics of a chinquapin and sawtooth. Either way, the deer love them both... It 's all about timing now.

Thanks everyone. The property I leased was timbered and there is not many good oaks left. This oak is on the neighboring property that I just got permission to hunt and it is loaded with big oaks. I'll probably hunt the big oaks this archery season.

Hmm..............Chinqapins usually have a larger lobe, not slender. I have sawtooth in my yard. Looks more like it to me and chinqs are a large acorn, very bitter. usually chinqs don't cluster like that either, but more singular in a pod by itself.

Dry or wet site? I'm leaning towards ckinkapin oak. Caps are white oak group, not fuzzy sawtooth caps. I would think that chestnut oak acorns would be farther along now too.

This tree is also at the very top of the ridge, growing on the edge of a hay field.
