I recently let my curiosity get the best of me and bought a Can Cooker Jr. I was hoping to find something for some quick and easy suppers in deer camp after we come in at dark-thirty tired and worn out. I'd seen the ads, so thought it was worth a try.
We broke it in tonight with their recipe for the sausage and shrimp, which includes the red potatoes, fresh corn on the cob, and onions. All I can say is WOW! That was one of the best meals I have had in a while. It was basically a shrimp boil on your stove in the kitchen. But, IMO, since it was cooked by steam rather than boiling, all of the food was firmer and had a much better taste. The shrimp done by their instructions were the best I have had in a long while.
We will definitely do that one again. My question to you gals and guys is does anyone else on here use one of those cookers, and if so, do you have any favorite recipes to share for the cooker? If you have any good ones to share, I'd appreciate them as this was a pretty quick and easy deal for a really great meal! It would be great to find a couple of good recipes that can be prepared before hand and put in the fridge to plop on the stove when we get in for the evening. We already do some crock pot cooking which works well, but the Can looked like a good option as well.
