Does anyone know of anywhere close to Cross Creeks that allows camping? Trying to avoid having to drive to LBL to camp.

I assume tent camping, correct?

I have never used it, but a Google search turned up Elk Harbor in Cumberland City.

Maybe call them and inquire, and maybe some of the local guys here will chime in and tell you if it is worth looking into, as well, if there are other options in that immediate area.

Stewart Forrest is close by. A hunting friend camped there to turkey hunt.

Kinda depends on what side of Cross Creeks your hunting on really.

Stewart is an option but its primitive, Elk Harbor used to be decent with electric n water but I heard a few years ago it got a bit trashy. That was hear say so take it for what it's worth. These are on the South side.

The North Side, LBL might be your only real option. You might add Woodlawn, Ft Campbell or Clarksville to your google search.

Good luck finding something and if you do please post it up as this question usually comes up yearly.

Also depends on how far north or south (which unit) your were assigned to hunt.

Cross Creeks in a very long (and narrow) area on both sides of the Cumberland River,
with few bridges to cross that river.

If on the south end of either side, somewhere around Cumberland City may be your best bet.
I would be hesitant to leave a campsite unattended at Stewart State Forest.

I'm really not aware of any really close good places to camp around the north end.

This might be an option for you, a little closer than LBL . . . .
