camera proved me wrong on todays hunt

Despite the wind and potential rain I dedided to hunt my spot in tipton county since it's close to home. Felt good about not seeing anything. Hunted from dark 30 till 10 over a 1 acre clover plot and didnt see anything.

Well, I have a plot watcher cam in that plot and brought it home to check the last few days activity. I was shocked to see 7 deer go through the plot at 645 this morning! WTH..they were on the end where I have little visibility due to trees but they piddled for 10 minutes cant believe I never caught a glimpse. Crazy. Was doe/meat hunting so that was disappointing. There will be some limb ttrimming happening. Good thing is 3 of last 4 days does have hit the plot in the AM. Nothing there after 10AM any day. Plot watcher is great for seeing over a whole plot.

Weather not good tomorrow even talking tornados. Maybe sunday if I'm lucky.

I can't tell you how many times I've gotten a picture of deer from a nearby camera while I was hunting but never saw the deer from the stand. They can slip past a lot more easily than we want to admit.

Two seasons ago on the last day I was in a ground blind 30 yards from a 1/2 acre wheat/clover meadow. At 10:00 a.m. I hadn't seen anything and got out of my blind and headed toward the meadow to check for sign. I saw a deer's back just over a high point in the meadow so I got low, crept close, stood up and realized it was a 6-point. Then I saw a doe and she walked right up to me. I shot the doe and suddenly 4 deer and 8 turkeys went running and flying everywhere - startled me big time. I hadn't seen any of them. I didn't realize I couldn't see the back part of the meadow due to the slope. It was comical.

Honestly, some of the best fishing I've ever had was when a tornado passed close by and a funnel cloud went right over me. I suspect the dramatic pressure change drove the fish crazy.
