Calling coyotes

I just bought a fox pot wildfire just wondering what people have had success with this time a year as far as getting them to come in. And when do you have the most success morning or after noon?

I think rabbit distress calls work well this time of year. Coyotes get pretty wise to the calls pretty quick. It is easy to over hunt a spot pretty quick.I like to mix up my calling by using rabbit distress and coyote vocals. the closer we get to springtime i will use more coyote vocals. I always have better luck first thing in the morning. The colder the better.

Do y'all just let caller play constantly on on and off.. I need some education in this area.

Go to foxpro website and there is a list of their top sounds as voted by users. my favorite is lightning jack. I know we dont have jackrabbits in this area but think thats why they are so interested in the jack sounds and also every other hunter in the woods uses cottontail so its something different.

My number 1 call was always a distress rabbit call. I also liked a baby/injured woodpecker call especially if was hunting in the bottoms. They were great for calling up coons as well.

I call a few min then wait muted then back on/off etc. Getting louder each time.
If im using hand calls alot of time I will leave the foxpro playing very low volume the entire set. Use the hand call to get loud get them coming and then when they get close enough they will fix on the foxpro.

But i have played it the whole set before just ramping the volume up and down and killed several. You will just have to get out there and play with it.
