Coyote virgin here-
I'm getting more photos of coyotes and last night walking out I heard a large pack howling and yipping about 1,000yds away.
The terrain is very small rolling hils and ravines, mostly wooded, so not great visibility when on the ground.

Can I use my deer stand, 16' high at the crest of a wooded ridge right now, to call in coyotes?

18 it is!
Will start on these guys when deer season ends. (Just when the wife thought it was over...)

no reason to use a deer stand. you need to make a lot of sets and the wind must always be perfect. first rule of coyote hunting- forget everything you learned about deer hunting.

Great. The coyotes are going to make me work for this one.
Wind on this farm is incredible. Many ravines, wind just swirls sometimes.
Example-
Was in the stand this morning, wind shifted and was now blowing hard at my back. Spit straight down and watched it go about 8 feet and then jog hard left! Different direction just below me. Deer still came into the field, never noticed me.

thats TN for ya!!I just love it when im going in and the wind is hitting me in the face. When i get within 100 yds of my setup i noticed its slapping me right in the back and carrying my sweet aroma up through the prime piece of land i just knew the coyotes would be!!
