I was hoping someone had some info on bank fishing Calderwood. Cant find much info here or online. The couple of pics ive found look like hiking in would be pretty tough. Anything is much appreciated.

Very little bank access. Just what there is around the ramp. The shoreline of the lake is mostly overhanging rhododendron and very steep. Not worth the trip if you're restricted to the bank.

You can also park at the overlook and walk down the gated road to the dam. There's some room to fish there and I think there's even a small dock. It's been many years since I've done it so, YMMV.

Guess I'll be in the market for a boat or a few kayaks then before I can fish there LOL I might go just walk the road and see what is down there though.

View attachment 76963Me and two other guys fished above that damn one day. Didn't catch anything. Straight down at the bank and never could get anything to sink to the bottom. My guess is at least 100 ft nearly straight down. It's crazy deep there at the damn. Worth the trip just to look over the damn, and if the sun is shining you can see part of an old rail car that went off the damn when the train crossed there. An old local told us about it and it's sure enough there. Can't get below the damn to fish because banks are too steep, but sure looks like good fishing if it was accessible.

Lost a phone in it many years ago on a bear hunt, have seen folks post pictures of fish from there years ago

You know what they say about lakes that are hard to access and seldom fished....its a really cool looking lake and one Ive never wet a line on.
