all this talk got me to wondering how many are actually killed yearly
this is coming from the Hunters Tool Box for statewide numbers

2015/16 Button Bucks 7,892 Spikes 7,905

There's no way to determine just how many of those buttons had broke through the hairline. Let's just assume 1/2 did. That would be another 3946 + 3922 + 4034 bucks taken over the 3 year span (under the new regs) totaling 11,902 bucks.
