Just saw a button with enormous buttons. Definitely a yearling but has three inches of buttons sticking up and silver Dollar size around. Will that translate to big horns later? Odd question just wondering

It does not for sure translate into big antlers later. However, it does translate into an early fawning date and they be spikes before this season is over. That is an odd diamter size. I would think, just another of nature's anonmalies.

With "buttons" that size, it could be a very late born yearling buck that is still in velvet. In essence, that isn't a button buck but a yearling buck.

A "yearling" deer is not a fawn. A yearling deer is now on its second deer season, while this is the first deer season for a fawn.
