What a disappointing surprise. Found out how dry it is. Went to my little hidey hole plot and it's gone. Dried and burned up. Maybe a little itty bitty 2 inch rape plant here or there. Same for the clover. All the oats just brown and down. Had the lime with me so I worked up the ground a little and put down the lime. Probably shouldn't have, but I also broadcast the red clover I came with to work into the bare spots, but now its the plot. Just 2 weeks ago it looked great. From the trail cam pics, the final days of green growth only occurred a few days ago.
I might not be able to get back out until muzzleloader opener. Is there something I could throw out at that time? More clover? Wheat or oats?
Do I have any chance that the Imperial Whitetail clover went dormant and might come back with some rain? Same for the buck forage oats?
Needing rain is an understatement. Will plant much later next year.
