came across a post on pintrest about container gardening. I have been recovering from surgery and just wasent able to keep a garden like I usually do so I decided to plant a few things in buckets. I have an old manmade pond in my front yard I just haven't filled in yet so I decided to put watermelons, cantalopes, zucchini and yellow squash in burlap sacks and put them in the pond.im about 4 weeks in and my plants have really took off.i have several areas around the house I would like to try this again with next season if this works well.has anyone else tried this style of gardening and how successful were you.any advice, pros or cons?

This is my first year planting in reusable grocery bags (cheap ol' fabric bags). I'll let you know how it goes. So far everything is doing good. I like your ideao of putting them in a pond or pool because it allows you to water from the ground or base upward which I would think helps your roots better establish themselves.
